The Binghamton Whalers were an ice hockey team in the
American Hockey League, playing in Binghamton, New York,
USA, at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The
Whalers played at the Arena for 10 seasons from 1980 to
1990 and finished with a record of 364-366-60-3-7
(W-L-T-OTL-SOL) through 800 games.
In the Calder
Cup playoffs the Whalers were 23-34 (W-L), winning 4
playoff series and making it to the Calder Cup Finals in
1982 losing the series to New Brunswick in five games. The
Wahlers were affliated all 10 years with the Hartford
Whalers along with the Washington Capitals from 1984 to
1988.
Like the Hartford Whalers, during home
games, the song "Brass Bonanza" would play when the
Whalers scored a goal.
