| The Binghamton Black Bears (29-6-7) lost to the Danbury Hat Tricks (23-16-5) at the Danbury Ice Arena by the score of 5-4 in overtime. The Captain of the Hat Tricks Jonny Ruiz opened up the scoring early with a goal at the 2:16 mark. The Black Bears Captain Tyson Kirkby however just 21 seconds later put up a tally himself tying this game back up at 1 goal apiece. Black Bears get their first lead of the game after a great pass from Connor Smith set up Jesse Anderson's 8th goal of the season. The Hat Tricks not to be out done ties the game up with a goal from Michael Falanga at the 13:10 mark of the 1st period. With the Hat Tricks pressuring in front of Nolan Egbert, Chase Harwell's centering pass got tipped in accidently by Gavin Yates, giving the Hat Tricks a 3-2 lead 3:56 into the period. Chase Harwell scored his second of the period and gave the Hat Tricks a 2 goal lead just 5:54 into the middle period. Yates then scored his 16th goal of the season at the 6:13 mark of the second making this a 4-3 game. Jestin Somero scores his 5th goal of the season, the Black Bears 4th goal of the game and the two team are knotted up with 6:41 left to go in the 3rd period. In overtime, the Hat Tricks dominated the puck possession and Daniel McKitrick scored with 2:13 left in the extra period to give the home team a 5-4 OT win. |
