October 17, 2026 - by Taylor Welch The second line that Head Coach Brant Sherwood has put together continues to impress. I know we are only 2 games into the season but that second line really does have that wow factor. One of them being Nick Cyprian who has great puck handling skills as late into the first period he is able to side step not 1 but 2 Prowlers and open up the passing lanes for several scoring opportunities and even after Port Huron attempts to clear Cyprian is able to keep the puck in with the help of Scott Ramaekers. Midway through the second period both Cheechoo Lathlin and Jake Hamilton did a great job backpedaling as Bobby Price had the puck entering the zone where Hamilton covered well enough Price needed to regroup to wait for reinforcements which allowed Cyprian to pick his pockets and gain control of the puck. During the third period Cyprian was able to get his first pro goal seconds after Port Huron pulled their goalie around the 16:30 mark of the 3rd period. Nick Swain was able to win the face off back and clear the puck out of the zone where Austin Fetterly bats it down but is out skated by Cyprian who cashes in on the empty net giving the Binghamton fans their burger goal making the score 5-1. Cyprian is going to continue being a player you will want to watch. Two games into the season and Chance Gorman already has 7 points on the season with 4 goals and 3 assists. 4 of those points happened in last nights game and out of those 4 points 3 of them happened in 3 minutes of each other all during the 3rd period. The first came as a goal 8:54 into the third followed by two assists one on CJ Stubbs’ goal 10:03 into the period and one on Scott Ramaekers goal at 11:21 mark. Moments before CJ Stubbs scored his goal the Prowlers had possession of the puck as a pass was made to Jamie Bucell but before he could make a run short handed Gorman would steal the puck and take it into the zone allowing Ivan Bondarenko and CJ Stubbs to get set up as the pass was made to Bondarenko, Stubbs was calling for it as he was wide open and slap the shot right through net minder Andrew MacLean for goal. That goal of course coming after the failed challenge by Port Huron putting Binghamton on the power play. As we learn more and more about Gorman and him being a skills coach the ability and skill that he possesses shines through every shift he takes on the ice. Whether on the 2nd line with Nick Cyprian and Sam Dabrowski which has been a phenomenal line to watch or on the power play unit with CJ Stubbs, Ivan Bondarenko, Sam Dabrowski and Jake Hamilton. Gorman continues to be in the right place at the right time and creates a lot of scoring opportunities. Firstly I would like to give a big Thank You to all of those that have messaged me your choice for Impact Player I truly appreciate it and love reading your responses. This weeks fan picked Impact Player is brought to you by Gary Ryan. As I mentioned in the first Impact Player Nick Cyprian was able to keep the puck in the zone with the help of Scott Ramaekers as Port Huron attempted to clear Ramaekers was able to get a poke check and get the puck away from the Prowlers that would set up Gehrett Sargis for a shot on goal. Now onto why Gary Ryan picked Ramaekers. During the second goal of the game for the Black Bears it was challenged for review by Assistant Coach Chris Paulin for goalie interference. After review it was determined to be a failed challenge as there was no goalie interference. Now aside from this being a good goal why was this huge? Scott Ramakers was the player in front of the crease tying up 2 Port Huron players thats right 2 of them pushing shoving creating havoc in front of the net that allowed Chance Gorman to get that goal. Ramakers does a great job of pushing the limits without going to far. Then only a couple minutes later as Cyprian takes the puck deep in the zone and gets tied up the pass is sent up to Gehrett Sargis who sees Ramaekers wide open sends the pass as Ramaekers wrists home the dagger.
