| The Binghamton Black Bears (29-6-6) defeated the Elmira River Sharks (17-27-0) by the score of 5-3 inside of the First Arena. The Black Bears got on the score sheet first with a power play goal from Austin Thompson with Elmira's Steven Klinck in the penalty box for interference. The River Sharks tied the game up at 1 goal a piece with a goal off the stick of Dominic Dumas with 9:25 left to go in the 1st. The River Sharks took a 2-1 lead with a goal from Davide Gaeta at the 13:07 mark of the 1st period. Then after a turn over by the Black Bears just 43 seconds later, Steven Klinck scored the River Sharks 3rd goal of the game to make this a 3-1 game. The Black Bears get their 2nd goal of the game off the stick of Austin Thompson, who scored his 2nd goal of the game getting the Black Bears to within 1 of the River Sharks. Josh Fletcher then tied the game at 3 goals apiece after a Donald Olivieri steal in the offensive zone and shirt pass to Fletcher who quickly shot the puck past River Sharks net-minder Sammy Bernard. Scoring their 3rd goal in the 2nd period, the Black Bears got their 4th goal of the game off the stick of Dakota Bohn. The 3rd period only saw an empty net goal from Dan Stone, providing the insurance goal for the Black Bears and securing a 5-3 win. |
