| The Binghamton Black Bears (33-6-7) defeated the Watertown Wolves (15-27-5) by the score of 8-1 at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. With Andrew Logar in the box for Interference, the Wolves got on the scoresheet first with a power play goal from Carter Thornton just 6:33 into the 1st period. Connor Smith with a huge smile on his face working hard in front of Wolves net-minder scored the Black Bears first goal of the game 9:35 into the 2nd period. Smith was not done as at the 14L14 mark, scored his 2nd of the period and of them game giving the Black Bears their first lead. Tyson Kirkby gave the Black Bears a 2 goal with a goal just 3:08 in the 3rd period. With Dakota Seaman in the penalty box for 4 minutes on a spearing penalty, the Black Bears went up by 3 goals as Austin Thompson scored a power play goal. After a big scrum that saw two Black Bears fight, Andrew Logar and JT Walters and with Walters serving a 5 minute major, the Wolves scored their 2nd power play goal of the game to make it a 4-2 game. The Wolves pulled Spencer Kozlowski for the extra attacker which led to a Dakota Bohn empty net goal to end this game at a 5-2 win. This win and a Motor City Rockers loss tonight clinched an Empire Division title for the Black Bears. |
