Black Bears Add Four-Year Pro Sam Dabrowski September 4, 2026 | ||

September 4, 2026 - by Bob Howard - BinghamtonHockey.net The Binghamton Black Bears have added another veteran presence to their 2026-27 roster, as Head Coach Brant Sherwood has signed forward Sam Dabrowski, a 28-year-old right-handed shot from Onalaska, Wisconsin. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 203 pounds, Dabrowski brings three seasons of professional hockey experience to Binghamton and will enter the upcoming season as a four-year professional. Before turning pro, Dabrowski played four seasons of NCAA Division III hockey at Hamline University, appearing in 80 games and recording 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points. He began his professional career during the 2023-24 season with the Danbury Hat Tricks of the FPHL, where he made an immediate impact, scoring seven goals and adding six assists for 13 points in just 12 games. Dabrowski then moved to the SPHL, splitting the remainder of that season between the Pensacola Ice Flyers and Knoxville Ice Bears, combining for twelve points in 30 games. Dabrowski has spent the majority of the last two seasons with Pensacola and Fayetteville. In 2024-25, he produced 23 points on 10 goals and 13 assists in 50 games with the Ice Flyers. Last season, after appearing in four games with Pensacola, Dabrowski joined the Fayetteville Marksmen and put together one of his best professional seasons, scoring 11 goals and adding 15 assists for 26 points in 34 games. He also received an opportunity in the ECHL, appearing in two games on loan with the Reading Royals. With Dabrowski now joining the Black Bears, Sherwood continues to add professional experience to a roster that already features a strong group of returning players. He joins Ivan Bondarenko, CJ Stubbs, Jesse Anderson, Dominik Tmej, Cheechoo Lathlin, Zac Sirota and Gehrett Sargis, giving Binghamton an impressive veteran core heading into the franchise's sixth season. Dabrowski's combination of size, right-handed shooting and professional experience should give the Black Bears another physical and versatile option up front. After beginning his career in the FPHL before gaining valuable experience in the SPHL and ECHL, Dabrowski arrives in Binghamton with the opportunity to bring that experience back to the league where his professional career began.
