The Binghamton Black Bears (30-6-7) defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves (20-22-3) at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena by the score of 9-1. The visiting Sea Wolves score first, a goal from their Captain, Justin Barr just 1:51 into the first period. The Black Bears Austin Thompson scored another first goal of the game for the home team tying the game at 1 goal apiece at the 5:26 mark. With Sea Wolves Justin Portillo in the penalty box for Slashing, Cameron Clark scored his 2nd goal of the season, a power play goal to put the Black Bears up 2-1. The Black Bears score another power play goal with Joakim Nilsson in the box for tripping as Austin Thompson scored his second goal of the game, the Black Bears now lead 3-1. The Black Bears Cameron Clark earned his second point of the night as he and Josh Fletcher were steaking into the offensive and he set up Fletcher for the Black Bears 4th goal of the game 5:03 into the 2nd period. In a classic Gavin Yates skating through both the neutral zone and then untouched through the offensive zone he skates right around Sea Wolves net-minder Blake Weyrick to score the Black Bears 5 goal of the game with 9:59 left to go in the 2nd. Just 18 seconds into the 3rd period, the Black Bears Captain Tyson Kirkby scored his 27th goal of the season to give the Black Bears a 6-1 lead. Austin Thompson scored the Black Bears 4th hat-trick of the season on the Black Bears 7th goal of the game with 10:18 left to go in the game. The Sea Wolves then pulled Weyrick for former Black Bears net-minder, Joseph Sheppard. Kirkby could not let Thompson have the only hat trick, as he then scored the next two goals for the Black Bears scoring on the power play with 5:55 left to go in the 3rd and then with 2:40 left to go in the game to finish the scoring with a 9-1 win over the Sea Wolves.
