MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (28-6-6) were defeated by the Elmira River Sharks (17-25-0) by the score of 6-3 inside of the First Arena. There was no scoring in the 1st period as both teams are sporting out of college players, both net-minders Nolan Egbert and Sammy Bernard saved all the shots sent their way. Just 30 seconds into the 2nd period, Dominic Dumas puts the home team up by 1 with a goal after a turnover in the Black Bears defensive zone and after a rebound that just landed on Dumas's stick. Playing in his debut game, Cameron Clark scored his first professional goal 7:10 into the period tying this game at 1 goal apiece. After another turn over in the defensive zone, the River Sharks take another 2nd period lead with a goal from Davide Gaeta who scores with 5:05 left to go in the middle frame. The River Sharks were not done in the 2nd period as Mark Pozsar gave the home team a 2 goal lead with 1:55 left to go in the period. Former Black Bear, Brett Parker gave the River Sharks a 3 goal lead after another Black Bears turnover as he came in on Nolan Egbert all by himself and scores with 10:38 left to go in the 3rd period. Austin Thompson scored with 9:23 left to go in the 3rd to get the Black Bears down by just 2. A little less than 3 minutes later Jake Shultz scored which put the Black Bears down by just 1 goal. The River Sharks got two more goals to end this game off the sticks of Darius Davidson and then an empty net goal from Elijah Wilson.
