| The Binghamton Black Bears (34-10-7) defeated the Elmira River Sharks (19-21-2) by the score of 7-3 inside of the First Arena. The Black Bears get on the score sheet first with an unassisted goal by Andrew Logar just 3:21 into the first period. With former Black Bear, Bret Parker in the box for holding, the Black Bears take a 2-0 lead after Blake Tosto scored his 5th goal of the season on the power play at the 7:49 mark. However the River Sharks came right back splitting the Binghamton defense with Cody Rodgers scoring the River Sharks first goal of the game 10 seconds later making this a 2-1 game. After a beautiful pass by Blake Tosto, Tyson Kirkby found himself all alone in front of Elmira net-minder Sammy Bernard and scored the Black Bears 3rd goal with 2:26 left to go in the 1st period. The River Sharks take their 2nd delay of game penalty which led to an Austin Thompson power play goal giving the Black Bears a 4-1 lead just 2:58 into the 2nd period. The Black Bears score a 5 on 3 power play goal as Dakota Bohn scored his 15 goal of the season and his 9th on the man advantage. Then 39 seconds later, Tyson Kirkby scored his 2nd goal of the game and the Black Bears fourth power play goal making this a 6-1 game at the 8:09 of the 2nd period. Scoring the Black Bears 4th power play goal in the period and 5th in the game, Austin Thompson scored a man advantage goal making this a 7-1 game. After the Black Bears scored 5 unanswered goals, the River Sharks scored off the stick of Cameron Yarwood who scored a 5 on 3 power play goal to make the game 7-2 with 3:21 left to go in the 2nd period. With the 3rd period getting feisty which saw Austin Thompson in the box for interference for a 5 minute major, Cameron Yarwood scored his second power play goal of the game and the River Sharks 3rd goal of the game 5:28 into the 3rd period. |
