| The Binghamton Black Bears (2-0) defeated the Motor City Rockers (0-2) to sweep the series and advance to the Commissioner's Cup Finals on Saturday night by the score of 3-2 in over-time. Josh Fletcher opened the scoring for the Black Bears just 8:23 into the 1st from a feed from Gavin Yates. Yates then fed Connor Smith for the Black Bears second goal at the 13:35 mark. The Rockers then reduced the Black Bears lead to 2-1 with a goal from Declean Conway with 4:28 left to go in the period as he was streaking in and pushed the puck through the five-hole of Connor McAnanama. No scoring in the 2nd period. The Rockers got a goal with 5 seconds left in the 3rd period off the stick of TJ Sneath as net-minder Ricardo Gonzalez was pulled for the extra-attacker. In the over-time period, both teams got shots in on each net-minder, but it was Austin Thompson from the right-side, a crazy angle shot the went in through Gonzalez's five-home to give the Black Bears the series win and a trip to the Commissioner's Cup Finals. |
