| The Binghamton Black Bears (1-0) defeated the Watertown Wolves (0-1) in Watertown in a close game, 4-2. The Wolves score first as Trevor Lord scores glove side high to beat Connor McAnanama for the game’s first goal at the 4:48 mark. The Wolves scored their second goal of the game off the stick of Michael Mercurio as he was able to squeak the puck through the five hole of the Black Bears net-minder. The Black Bears cut the lead for the Wolves down to 1 as Kyle Stephan scores at the 2:14 mark to make this a 2-1 game. Colan Fitzgerald who started the play on Stephan's goal, scored the game tying goal just 43 seconds later knotting this game at 2 goals apiece. With Justin Schmit in the penalty box for an instigator penalty at the end of the 2nd period, Dakota Bohn put the Black Bears up with a power play goal up just 1:40 into the 3rd period. Gavin Yates scored the Black Bears 4th goal of the game at the 10:34 mark of the 3rd. The Black Bears take a 1 game lead in the best of 3 series in the Commissioner's Cup Quarterfinals Empire Division B Series. |
