| The Binghamton Black Bears (39-10-7) defeated the Elmira River Sharks (20-34-2) by the score of 4-3 at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. It took until the later stages of the 1st period for either team to get on the scoreboard as Austin Thompson cleaned up a rebound and put the Black Bears up, 1-0 with 3:37 left to go in the 1st period. Former Black Bear, Dustin Jesseau tied the game up for the River Sharks 4:32 in the 2nd period. The River Sharks took the 2-1 lead 8:18 into the 2nd period with an unassisted goal by Steven Klinck. Klinck scored his 2nd goal of the game to get the River Sharks up by two goals with 1:43 left to go in the period. Black Bears score early in the 3rd period as Kyle Stephan scored at the 4:02 mark making this a 3-2 game. Then 1:05 later the Black Bears tie the game up at 3 with a well needed goal from Connor Smith. Smith was not done as he scored with 53 seconds left to go in the game earning not only the game tying goal but the game winning goal giving the Black Bears a 4-3 win. |
