MINI RECAP

The Binghamton Black Bears (6-0-0) defeated the Watertown Wolves (1-4-1) to win their 6th straight game to start the season in front of a home crowd by the score of 5-2. The Wolves got the early start to the scoring with a Yefim Mishkin goal just 5:42 in the 1st period as he beat first time pro, Dominik Tmej putting the Wolves up 1-0. With the Wolves goal scorer in the box for tripping, the Black Bears tied up the game with a Gavin Yates power play goal with 5:52 left to go in the period. The Black Bears then get the 2-1 lead as Yates scored his 2nd goal of the game with 2:48 left to go in the 1st period. The Wolves tie the game up after a Dyan Gutierrez shot made it into the back of the net after a turn over in the neutral zone at the 5:44 mark of the middle period. In the 3rd period with Egor Filippov in the box for roughing, CJ Stubbs scored his 2nd goal of the season on the man advantage giving the Black Bears a 3-2 just 2:53 into the period. Austin Thompson scored his 100th goal in his pro-career 10:37 into the third period giving the Black Bears a 4-2 lead. With Darion Benchich in the box for Slashing, the Black Bears scored their 3rd power play goal of the game off the stick of Mac Jansen with 7:45 left in the final period giving the Black Bears a 5-2 win, winning their 6th straight game.
