MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (25-3-0) defeated the Watertown Wolves (10-15-2) in Watertown on Saturday night by the score of 8-3. While CJ Stubbs was in front of the net with his stick planted firmly on the ice, Austin D'Orazio sent the puck over to Stubbs who put it past Wolves net-minder Breandan Colgan for the games first goal at the 4:16 mark of the first period. With Ian McDonald in the penalty box for holding, Austin D'Orazio scored his 13th goal, which is his 10th man-up goal of the season giving the Black Bears a 2-0 lead just 2:16 into the 2nd period. The Black Bears take a 3-0 lead after Gavin Yates scores his 18th of the season, scoring top shelf on Colgan at the 4:50 mark of the 3rd period. On an odd-man rush for the Wolves, they get on the scoreboard with an Egor Filippov goal making this a 3-1 game at the 6:01 mark of the third period. Just 19 seconds later, the Black Bears get their 3 goal lead back with Tyson Kirkby's 8th of the season making this game 4-1. CJ Stubbs scored the Black Bears 5th goal of the game, his 22nd of the season making it a 5-1 game at the 8:49 mark. The Wolves strike back quickly with a Darion Benchich goal just 21 seconds after the Stubbs goal making it a 5-2 game. Zac Sirota scored his 10th goal of the season at the 11:05 mark of the 3rd period, giving the Black Bears a four goal lead again. Just 40 seconds later, Dan Wieber got his second goal of the season giving the Black Bears a 7-2 lead. The Wolves added their 3rd goal of the period off the stick of Hunter Hall with 7:37 left to go in the game. With 35 second left in the period, Gavin Yates added his second goal of the game ending the scoring at 9 goals in the final period but with a Black Bears 8-3 victory.
