MINI RECAP

The Binghamton Black Bears (28-3-0) defeated the Watertown Wolves (11-16-3) in a 21 save shutout performance for Black Bears net-minder, Dominik Tmej. Gavin Yates opened the scoring for the Black Bears just 21 seconds into the first period, tallying his 21st goal of the season. Binghamton extended the lead later in the frame when Zac Sirota netted his eleventh of the season at the 12:42 mark, making it 2–0. Tyson Kirkby extended the Black Bears’ lead to three with a backhand shot past Wolves goaltender Breandan Colgan, scoring 57 seconds into a power-play opportunity with Quinn Chevers serving a slashing minor. With Adam Zimmerman in the box for delay of game, Binghamton capitalized again as Scott Ramaekers recorded the team’s second power-play goal of the period to make it 4–0 with 7:25 remaining. Still on a two-man advantage, Austin D’Orazio added his 14th goal of the season to push the lead to 5–0 with 2:10 left in the frame. Nick Swain closed out the period with his 12th of the season, giving the Black Bears a 6–0 advantage with 12 seconds on the clock. Zac Sirota added the Black Bears’ fourth power-play goal of the game at the 8:11 mark of the third period, recording his 12th of the season while Trevor Neumann served a kneeing minor. Kyle Stephan finished the scoring with his fifth of the year, extending the lead to 8–0 with 7:32 to play. The win improved Binghamton’s record against Watertown this season to 10-1-0. Binghamton out-shot Watertown 52–21 and earned its fifth sellout of the season, drawing 4,893 fans.
