| The Binghamton Black Bears (10-1-1) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (3-4-3) in Danbury on Saturday night after a 33 save shutout by Nolan Egbert. After two goals were either called off or reviewed and over turned, the Black Bears and Hat Tricks are scoreless after the first 20 minutes of the game. With Chase Harwell in the box for boarding Dan Wieber, the Captain Tyson Kirkby scored the games first goal on the power play at the 6:06 mark of the 2nd period. To put the Black Bears up 2-0, Gavin Yates sent a beautiful pass to Blake Tosto as the both were speeding through the offensive zone and Tosto scored with 3:42 to go in the middle period. After an ugly few moments in the third period where fans were throwing beers on to the Black Bears players while on the bench, Dan Stone scored to make this a 3-0 game with 3:25 left to go. Cameron Clark scored an empty net goal to make this a 4-0 victory for the Black Bears and helping Nolan Egbert earn his first professional shutout. |
