| The Binghamton Black Bears (40-5-1) defeated the Blue Ridge Bobcats (22-17-5) in a penalty filled 2nd and 3rd period which included a line brawl down in Wytheville, Virginia on a Sunday afternoon. After killing a 5 on 3 penalty kill, Austin Thompson and Josh Fletcher came streaking in on Bobcats net-minder Greg Hussey, the Black Bears get the first goal of the game after a Thompson's shot was cleaned up by Fletch at the 15:49 mark of the first period. After a Bobcats turn over in their own zone, Chris Mott takes advantage and scores his 10th goal of the season at the 8:00 mark of the 2nd period making this a 2-0 lead. Scott Ramaekers followed up the Mott goal with one of his own making this a 3-0 lead for the Black Bears at the 9:32 mark of the middle period. Cameron Clark scored the Black Bears 4th goal of the game with just 1:18 left to go in the period. The Bobcats get their first goal of the game making this a 4-1 game at the 10:02 mark after a Hunter Godmere shot beats Nolan Egbert. The Black Bears win their 40th game of the season and finish the weekend earning 6 points in the 3 games in 3 nights. |
