| The Binghamton Black Bears (39-5-1) lost to the Blue Ridge Bobcats (22-16-5) down in Wytheville, Virginia by the score of 5-2 ending the Black Bears 18 game winning streak. Just 1:20 into the 1st period Gavin Yates scored his 3rd goal of the weekend putting the visiting Black Bears up 1-0. With Dan Wieber in the sin-bin for tripping, the Bobcats did not wait until the 3rd period to score a goal like last night and got a power play goal off the stick of Hunter Godmere at the 4:54 mark of the 1st knotting this game up at 1 goal a piece. The Bobcats take their first ever lead over the Black Bears off the stick of Brandon Reller at the 1:23 mark of the 2nd period giving the home team a 2-1 lead. After a whole ice pass from Scott Ramaekers, Tyson Kikrby scored the equalizing goal just 36 seconds later making this a tie game at 2 just 1:59 into middle frame. The Bobcats gets the lead back with 6:40 left to go in the 2nd period after Justin Daly scored a rebound goal making this a 3-2 Bobcats lead. After a turnover in the defensive zone, the Bobcats take a two goal lead after a Nicholas Stuckless goal at the 5:36 mark. Justin Daly scored an empty-net goal at the 19:18 mark of the 3rd period to make this a 5-2 Bobcats win, ending their win streak at 18. |
