Black Bears (39-4-1) defeated the Blue Ridge Bobcats
(21-16-5) down in the Bludge Ridge Mountains of Virginia by the
score of 7-3 extending their winning streak to 18 games. With 1
second left on the clock, Dan Stone scored the
Black Bears first goal of the game after a flurry of shots in the
last minute of the period. The Black Bears out shot the Bobcats in
the period 17 to 12 but no one scores and the game remains at 1-0
after 40 minutes of play. CJ Stubbs gets the Black
Bears second goal of the game just 1:08 into the 3rd period after he
scored on the rebound shot from Gavin Yates making
this a 2-0 lead. Gavin Yates scores the Black Bears third goal of
the game just 3:27 into the final period as he went high on
Connor Green and beat him. Then on the power play,
Gavin Yates scored his 2nd straight goal of the game making
this a 4-0 game at the 3:53 mark of the 3rd period. Scott
Ramaekers picked up his 14th goal of the
season 5:17 into the period capping off the Black Bears 4 goals in 5
minutes and 17 seconds, keeping the foot on the gas in the 3rd
period. The Bobcats get on to the score as Michael Mercurio
cleaned up the rebound in front of Connor McAnanama to make
this a 5-1 game right at the 10:00 mark of the 3rd period. The Black
Bears make it a 5 goal lead as Dakota Bohn scored a power play goal at the 10:35
mark with the Bobcats captain Daniel Martin in the
box for delay of game, puck over the glass. With Austin
Bellefeuille in the box for slashing, Zac Sirota scored a his first power play
goal as a professional and making this a 7-1 game with 5:15 left to
go in the game. The Bobcats started to see some momentum come to
their side of the play with their 2nd goal of the game from
Nicholas McHugh at the 18:25 mark of the third period. Then
in a shot from Daniel Klinecky in which Connor McAnanama could not see, the
Bobcats scored another late 3rd period goal get this game to 7-3
with 14 seconds left to go. |
