| The Binghamton Black Bears (32-4-1) defeated the HC Venom (7-20-3) by the score of 3-2 after a late surge by the Venom in the last 20 minutes of the game. The Black Bears did bite first at the 9:06 mark of the first period with a shot from Jesse Anderson getting past Makar Solokov to make this a 1-0 game. Austin Thompson scored his 23rd goal of the season with 1:36 left to go in the period to make this a 2-0 game. There was no scoring in the second period as the Black Bears and Venom both had chances but neither could convert. Just 2:22 into the 3rd period Dakota Bohn took a shot just past the blue-line to score the Black Bears third goal making this a 3-0 game. With Tyson Kirkby in the box for hooking, the Venom scored their first goal of the game 7:41 into the 3rd period on the power play off the stick of Mark Pozsar. With the Venom continuing their pressure deep into the third period Luke Richards scored the Venom's second goal making this a 1 goal game in which the Black Bears won, winning their 11th game in a row. |
