| The Binghamton Black Bears (31-4-1) defeated the Columbus River Dragons (18-8-4) by the score of 5-1 on Saturday night Again the Black Bears score early in a game to start the game with a Dakota Bohn goal at the 2:01 mark of the 1st period. Then with Bohn in the box for cross-checking, Kyle Stephan scored the Black Bears 13th short-handed goal of the season to make this a 2-0 lead for the Black Bears. With Gavin Yates in the penalty box for high-sticking, a double-minor he was serving that carried over from the 1st period, the River Dragons took advantage with a Justin MacDonald goal 1:04 into the middle period. Josh Fletcher scored at the 3:35 mark where the Black Bears had to have the referee's review the goal as they initially waived the goal off. Josh Fletcher scored the Black Bears 4th goal of the game with 1:37 left to go into the middle period making this a 4-1 game. Then 16 seconds later the Black Bears got another goal, this one off the stick of CJ Stubbs ending the period with a Black Bears 4 goal lead. The Black Bears and the River Dragons were both left scoreless as the Black Bears won their 10th game in a row taking this game 5-1. |
