| The Binghamton Black Bears (13-3-1) lost to the Port Huron Prowlers (7-8-2) in a penalty filled game in Binghamton by the score of 5-3 with the help of a Tucker Scantlebury hat-trick. The Prowlers didn't get their first shot in the game until the 7:17 mark but it was a Tucker Scantlebury shot that beat net-minder Nolan Egbert to put the Prowlers up by 1 goal. With Scantlebury in the penalty box for a goalie interference, the Black Bears tied the game up on the power play off the stick of Donald Olivieri 9:41 into the first period. New forward for the Prowlers, Stefan Diezi scored his first goal of the season in his first game with 3:41 left to go in the 1st period. The Prowlers continued their aggressive and physical play which paid off as Scantlebury scored his second goal of the game to put the Prowler up by 2 just 1:48 into the middle period. The Black Bears responded quickly with a Tyson Kirkby goal 1 minute and 39 seconds later. The Prowelers made this a 2 goal game again with Scantlebury's 3rd goal completing the hat-trick at the 11:45 mark. Jesse Anderson completing his Gordie Howe Hat Trick after scoring the Black Bears 3rd goal with just 3:41 left to go in the period to go with his assist in the 1st period and his fight versus Scantlebury. The Prowlers added a fifth goal right at the end of the game in an empty net off the stick of Dan Chantrand, giving the Prowlers their first win over the Black Bears this season by the score of 5-3. |
