MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (1-0) defeated the Watertown Wolves (1-1) by the score of 3-2 after a Stubbs short-handed tally in the 3rd period. Scott Ramaekers gave the Black Bears a 1-0 lead at the 6:27 mark of the 1st period as his shot from behind the goal line went off the skate of Breandan Colgan and into the net for the games first goal. With Jimmy Lodge in the sin-bin for holding, the Black Bears pick up a power goal off the stick of 2 time MVP, Gavin Yates who scored at the 9:57 mark of the period giving the Black Bears an early 2-0 lead. With both CJ Stubbs (slashing) and Dan Stone (tripping) in the penalty box, the Wolves get their first goal of the game with 3:54 left to go in the period making this a 2-1 game off the stick of Trevor Lord. Going into the 3rd period with Austin Thompson still in the penalty box, Davide Gaeta scored a power play goal and tied the game at 2 goals a piece just 19 seconds into the 3rd period. With Donald Olivieri in the box for hooking, the Wolves on the power play, it was CJ Stubbs who stole the puck from the Wolves and scored a short-handed goal to put the Black Bears back up 3-2 and give the visiting team a 1-0 lead in the Quarterfinals series.
