| The Binghamton Black Bears (1-0-0-1) lost in a shoot out to the Danbury Hat Tricks (2-1-0-0) by the score of 3-2. Quickly, the Black Bears get a goal from Josh Fletcher, his first pro goal 1:26 into the 1st, rebound goal from a Nikita Ivashkin shot. Binghamton scored on their first shot, then 23 shots combined by both teams, yet Binghamton has a 1-0 lead after 1 period. The Hat Tricks tie the game at 1 in the 2nd period with an Evan Lugo goal at the 14:58 mark. Then just 6 seconds later, Daniel McKitrick scores for Danbury to make it a 2-1 Hat Tricks lead. Thomas Wray scored at the 5:15 mark of the third off a great pass from Dustin Jesseau tieing the game at 2-2. There were a few chances for both teams in the over-time period but neither team could score in the 5 minute extra period. In the shoot-out, the Danbury Hat Tricks got the only goal off the stick of Daniel McKitrick as all three Binghamton skaters were not able to get the puck past the Danbury net-minder Connor McCollum. The two teams will play again tomorrow night in Binghamton at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. |
