MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (8-1-3) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (6-6-0) on Thanksgiving Eve at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena by the score of 6-2. The Hat Tricks got on the sheet early in the 1st with a Sam Dabrowski goal just 3:04 into the opening period. With the two teams playing 4 on 4 with Wray and Dabroski in the box both for seperate cross-checking calls, Brenden Stanko scored his 8th goal of the season for the Black Bears tieing the game at 1. Then with 5:05 left to go in the 1st period and with Sam Dabrowski back int he box for boarding, Tyson Kirkby scored a power play goal and take the 2-1 lead. With Gavin Yates driving to the Danbury left side post, making a beautiful pass to Josh Fletcher on the right side post, Fletcher tapped it in for the 3-1 lead with 9:17 left to go in the 2nd period. Late in the period, with 3 minutes and 4 seconds left to go and with Sam LiVecchi all sprawled out on the ice, Daniel McKitrick scored the Hat Tricks 2nd goal of the game making the Black Bears lead just 1. Brenden Stanko scored his 2nd of the night putting the Black Bears back up by 2 goals at 4-2 just 3:48 into the final frame. 3 minutes and 14 seconds later Brenden Stanko completed the hat-trick as Nikita Ivashkin got him the puck on a break away to put the Black Bears up 5-2. Jestin Somero caps off the scoring for the Black Bears as he gets his 1st of the seaosn, an empty netter at the 18:40 mark of the 3rd period.
