MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (21-3-6) defeated the Watertown Wolves (10-17-2) in Watertown in a close game, 5-3. Just 49 seconds into the game, Tyson Kirkby scored on the 2nd shift of the game for the Black Bears, putting the visiting team up 1-0. With Liam Anderson in the penalty box for tripping, Watertown tied the game up at 1 goal apiece after an Aleksandr Gamzatov goal. The Black Bears 1 minute 4 seconds later get their 2nd goal of the game and period from Jess Anderson who scored his 3rd goal of the season. With Tate Leeson in the penalty box for tripping, Connor Smith got a rebound power play goal to put the Black Bears up 3-1 with only 3:57 played in the 2nd period. Jesse Anderson scored his 2nd goal of the game at the 13:30 mark with the Black Bears on the power play to make this a 4-1 game. Trevor Lord scored early in the 3rd period to cut the Black Bears lead in half at 4-2. After Dakota Seaman went to the locker room assessed with a 5 minute match penalty for spearing, the Black Bears only managed 1 shot on Wolves net-minder Eloi Bouchard. Then just 2 seconds after the power play ended, the Wolves scored their 3rd goal of the game off the stick of Justin Schmit. With 2:05 left to go in the game, the Wolves pulled Bouchard for the extra attacker before Watertown took a time-out with 1:31 left to go in the 3rd period. However the Black Bears seal the deal with an Austin Thompson empty net goal, the Black Bears win the game 5-3.
