| The Binghamton Black Bears (20-3-6) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (16-12-2) at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena Saturday night by the score of 6-2. With both Dan Stone (Interference) and Dakota Bohn (Roughing) in the box at 8:55 of the 1st putting the Hat Tricks on the power play, the Hat Tricks got on the score sheet first with a power play goal from Bohdan Zinchenko. The Black Bears tied the game up at 1 after a booming shot from JT Walters was tipped in by the captain, Tyson Kirkby with 1:21 left to go in the period. Unlike the 1st period the Black Bears scored first with an Austin Thompson goal at the 5:39 mark of the 2nd period. But not to be outdone less than a minute later Thomas Wray who assisted on the Thompson goal scored to make this a 3-1 game in the Black Bears favor. With Colby Audette in the box for an interference call, the Black Bears sustained pressure until Gavin Yates scored the Black Bears 4th goal. Just 41 seconds later after a turnover, the Hat Tricks Corey Cunningham brought the game back to a 2 goal game just 6:23 into the 3rd period. The Hat Tricks pulled Liam Murray at the 17:18 mark of the third for the extra attacker which led to a Tyson Kirkby unassisted goal and then after pulling Murray again, Gavin Yates scored the Black Bears 6th goal of the game completing the win. |
