| The Binghamton Black Bears (19-2-6) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (15-11-2) at the Danbury Ice Arena by the score of 4-1. The first goal was not scored until Corey Cunningham was sent to the box for slashing allowing Nikita Ivashkin to tip in an Austin Thompson shot to give the Black Bears 1-0 lead. Bohdan Zinchenko tied the game up for the Hat Tricks as his shot was tipped by Dan Wieber then went off the glove of Connor McAnanama at the 13:31 mark. Josh Fletcher carried the puck from one end of the ice to the other end and took a wrister that surprised Connor McCollum which gave the Black Bears the lead early in the 2nd period. With JT Walters in the box, Tyson Kirkby stole a puck from Danbury and was able to score getting the short-handed goal and putting the Black Bears up 3-1. The Black Bears battled hard until the end the 3rd period, never letting up and even saw McAnanama take a shot at an empty night that went just a little to the left. Austin Thompson however did get the empty-net goal to seal the deal for the Black Bear end the 3 game OT losing streak to the Hat Tricks by the score of 4-1. |
