| The Binghamton Black Bears (18-2-6) lost to the Danbury Hat Tricks (15-10-2) in the shootout, at the Danbury Ice Arena, 5-4. Early in the 1st period Donald Olivieri continued his 12 game point streak by scoring the Black Bears first goal of the game at the 2:29 mark. With Dakota Bohn in the penalty box for tripping the Hat Tricks tied up the game on the power play off the stick of Corey Cunningham. Late in the 1st period, Tyson Kirkby puts the Black Bears up by 1. Nikita Ivashkin gets on the score board 3:13 into the 2nd period after scoring on a feed from Bohn. Just 36 seconds later Gavin Yates scored to make this a 3 goal game as the Black Bears take a 4-1 lead. An ugly rebound after Connor McAnanama allowed Chase Harwell to score the Hat Tricks 2nd goal of the game just 1:43 into the last period. Chase Harwell scored his 2nd of the 3rd period to get this game down to a 1 goal game with just 13:33 left to go in the game. The Hat Tricks with all the pressure and some very good puck luck ties the game at 4 goals with a Jonny Ruiz tally 8:57 into the 3rd. The Black Bears and Hat Tricks went into OT with the Black Bears on the power play, which the Hat Tricks killed. Then the Black Bears went on another power play in overtime with the Hat Tricks getting tagged for a Too Many Men On The Ice penalty which the Hat Tricks again killed. The two teams both scored in the shootout, but the Hat Tricks got two from Connor Woolley and Corey Cunningham, where the Black Bears only got a shootout goal from Thomas Wray. Andrew Logar's goal was disallowed after a review. Hat Tricks win their 5th game in a row and this is the third win in a row over the Black Bears in overtime for Danbury. |
