| The Binghamton Black Bears (17-2-4) lost to the Danbury Hat Tricks (11-10-2) in over-time at the Danbury Ice Arena by the score of 5-4. The Black Bears score early in the 1st period with a Jesse Anderson shot tipped in by Tyson Kirkby to make it 1-0 at the 3:06 mark. Donald Olivieri makes it a 2-0 game scoring a power play goal just 2 minutes and 46 seconds later. Working off the 2nd part of the John Scully double minor penalty where Olivieri scored, Nikita Ivashkin scored the Black Bears 2nd power play goal making it a 3-0 game. The Hat Tricks pulled to just two goals down, 12 seconds after the Black Bears goal as Jonny Ruiz scored to make this a 3-1 game. Ruiz, being the leader of the Hat Tricks as he is, scored again for his team, his 2nd of the period, making this a 3-2 Binghamton lead. Josh Labelle scored his first as a Danbury Hat Trick, as the Hat Tricks tie the game up at 3 at the 7:35 mark of the 2nd period. On the power play in the middle the 2nd period, John Scully scores his first goal as a Hat Trick putting the Hat Tricks in the lead for the first time in the game at 4-3. The 3rd period went by uneventful until the Hat Tricks, Tetreault was caught with a high-sticking penalty with 8:00 minutes left to go in the game. The Black Bears didn't score on the power play, however 11 seconds after the power play was over, Josh Fletcher won a faceoff and sent the puck to Jestin Somero who scored the game tying goal. After taking the their 2nd Too Many Men penalty in the game, the Black Bears were short-handed in the OT period which led Brandon Stojcevski to score the game winning goal, Hat Tricks win the game 5-4. |
