| The Binghamton Black Bears (7-0-3) defeated the Elmira River Sharks (3-4-0) 8-3 on Friday night at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. The first goal of the game did not come until the 16:29 mark and it broke the damn with 4 Binghamton Goals in 1 minute and 57 seconds, a Binghamton Black Bears record for a 4 goal stretch. Daniel Stone got the first goal with Connor McAnanama pulled for an extra attacker at the 16:29. Then while on the power play, Tyson Kirkby scored 1 minute later. Gavin Yates scored 8 seconds later before the Black Bears Austin Thompson scored at the 18:26 mark to make this a 4 goal game before the two teams headed to the dressing room for the 1st intermission. Starting the 2nd period off a little quicker, the Black Bears scored the 5th goal off the stick of Thomas Wray who cleaned up a Brenden Stanko shot 4:27 in the period. The Black Beard got their 2nd power play goal of the game 10:11 into the 2nd off the a Brenden Stanko shot. Elmira made it a 6-1 game with 8:51 left in the 2nd as Houston Wilson scored for the River Sharks. Elmira started to mount a comeback as the Black Bears were not able to stay out of the penalty box scoring two power play goals thanks to Martin Moucha who scored both at 11:46 and 12:22 into the 3rd putting this game at 6-3. The Black Bears returned the favor by scoring two more power play goals of their own with Brenden Stanko getting his 2nd power play goal of the game at the 14:42 mark. Then Andrew Logar followed that up 1 minute and 1 second later scoring his power play goal and finishing the scoring, with the Black Bears winning the game 8-3. |
