| The Binghamton Black Bears (16-2-3) defeated the Watertown Wolves (6-10-1) at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena by the score of 9-1 in a route with the Black Bears down players. In a game with Connor McAnanama and Sam LiVecchi both playing, with McAnanama in as a forward due to sickness in the locker-room, the Wolves were not able to take advantage. Instead Connor Smith who missed some of last night's game due to sickness made up for his absence with the only goal of the 1st period at the 17:27 mark, making this a 1-0 Binghamton lead. The Wolves Trevor Lord went to the box for tripping at the 2:50 mark and that opened up the Black Bears to a power play goal off the stick of Andrew Logar. The Black Bears would get on the scoresheet again after a nifty feed to Tyson Kirkby from Josh Fletcher and the Captain sank the Black Bears 3rd goal of the game with 4:49 to go in the 2nd period. With 1 minute and 57 seconds left, the Black Bears got their 4th goal of the game, an odd goal as the puck shot by Connor Smith went off of Bouchard and then went off of Dan Stone's head then over Bouchard into the net. Watertown broke the shutout with a goal, his 3rd of the weekend, Chiwetin Blacksmith just 35 seconds from Stone's header goal. But to get the Black Bears to a 4 goal lead again, Tyson Kirkby scored his 2nd of the period with only 12 seconds left in the period. At the 5:14 mark of the 3rd period, Gavin Yates won a faceoff, sending the puck back to Jesse Anderson who then fires it above the shoulder of new net-minder for the Wolves Owen Liskiewicz making this a 6-1 game. The Black Bears finished off the period with three more goals, Donald Olivieri scored with 4 minutes and 35 seconds left, then Jestin Somero scored a power play goal with 3:57 left, not to be outdone by Connor Smith scoring his 2nd of the game and 3rd of the weekend with 2:41 to go in the game. Playing forward tonight, Connor McAnanama recorded an assist on the last Black Bears goal, marking his first professional point as a forward. |
