MANCHESTER, N.H. - Rookie Derek Grant scored a goal he is likely never to forget, netting his first as professional just 4:03 into overtime of game two to send the Binghamton Senators home with a 4-3 victory over the Manchester Monarchs. With the win the B-Sens and Monarchs are now tied 1-1 in the best-of-seven Atlantic Division Semifinals.

Following a scoreless first period the B-Sens found themselves in a 2-0 hole heading into the third. Tyler Toffoli and Justin Azevedo each net their first goals of the playoffs at 2:16 and 9:09 of the second respectively to give the Monarchs a commanding lead.

The B-Sens rebounded in the third, taking their first lead of the series with a trio of goals. Ryan Potulny's second goal of the playoffs put Binghamton on the board just 1:07 into the final period of regulation.

B-Sens' captain Ryan Keller would tie the game at 5:22 of the third, before Kaspars Daugavins hammered one home at 8:59 to give the B-Sens a 3-2 edge. Potulny assisted on Daugavin's tally, earning his second point of the game.

The Monarchs would pull goaltender Jeff Zatkoff in favor of an extra skater with under a minute remaining in regulation and ultimately capitalized on the six-on-five advantage. Jake Muzzin beat Barry Brust with 1:02 remaining in regulation to force the first overtime of the 2011 Calder Cup playoffs before Grant's heroics sent the rambunctious crowd of 8,588 Monarchs fans fleeing for the exits.

Game three is set for Sunday, April 17 at 5:05 p.m. The B-Sens will host a tailgate party on the Stuart Street side of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena beginning at 3 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a free B-Sens hand clapper courtesy of the Binghamton Senators Booster Club.

The B-Sens executive offices, located on the third floor of the arena, will be open Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. where tickets for games three through five will be on sale. Tickets are $18.75 for side seating, $17.75 for end seating. For more information, including the complete first round schedule visit www.binghamtonsenators.com.
