Black Bears Articles: Black Bears Fall to River Dragons, 4-1

BINGHAMTON – The Columbus River Dragons defeated the Binghamton Black Bears on Saturday night, 4-1, in front of over 3,300 fans at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena.

Jack Reilly opened the scoring with a wrist shot over the right shoulder of goaltender Owen Liskiewicz. Reilly scored on a two-on-one for his fourth goal of the year with assists from Alex Storjohann and Levi Armstrong at 3:02 of the first period for the 1-0 lead for Columbus.

Columbus took a 2-0 lead on the power play as Parker Moskal ripped a shot over the right shoulder of Liskiewicz from the hash marks at 7:43 of the first. The goal was Moskal’s second of the season with the lone assist being credited to Hunter Bersani.

Binghamton answered back on the power play to get on the board. Tyler Gjurich fired a slap shot into the net from the left wing circle for his 46th goal of the year at 10:49 of the first frame. Assists were credited to Sam Turner and Mo Levac and the Black Bears trailed 2-1 after one period.

After no scoring in the second, Parker Moskal scored early in the third to give Columbus a 3-1 lead. The goal was Moskal’s second of the game and third of the year and came just 4:51 into the third period.

Dalton Anderson added an empty net goal in the 4-1 win.

The Black Bears are back home tomorrow at 3 p.m. against Columbus. WEIS Shopper’s Card Club Members can score $8 tickets to the game. Then on Friday, April 8, the Black Bears host Danbury at 7 p.m. Tickets are available now at www.binghamtonblackbears.com/tickets.
