| The Binghamton Black Bears (26-12-4) lost
a tight battle in overtime to the FPHL leading Columbus River
Dragons (32-6-3) in overtime by the score of 3-2. The Black Bears,
now on a five game losing streak only going to OT twice and gaining
2 points in those 5 games got goals tonight from Gavin Yates and
Austin Thompson. But it was not enough as the two teams went into
overtime with the Black Bears having the most pressure in the extra
period, but a defensive breakdown and turn over allowed Josh
Pietrantonio to go in undefended onto Riley McVeigh and as the Black
Bears luck has been, Pietrantonio scored ending the game 59 seconds
into OT. The two teams will meet again Saturday night in Columbus
for the second meeting of the season. |
