| The Binghamton Black Bears (30-14-5)
battled hard but lost to the Motor City Rockers (27-16-6) in Fraser,
Michigan by the score of 6-5 in overtime. The Black Bears were down
2-0 in the first when Austin Thompson scored at the 19:13 mark of
the 1st period to cut the Rockers lead in half going into the 1st
intermission. Then the Black Bears roared back with 3 straight goals
from Tyler Gjurich, Mac Lewis and Tyson Kirby who scored on the
power play to make it 4-2 Binghamton. The Rockers then scored the
next two goals to make it a 4-4 game again. The Black Bears then
scored on the power play from Cameron Yarwood before seeing the
Rockers scoring their 5th of the game to push this game to overtime.
However it was not the Black Bears night as Jameson Milam scored the
OT winner. Talor Joseph was in net for the Black Bears and stopped
29 of 35 in the loss. The two teams will meet up again in the same
place at 6 PM to finish the season series. |
