| The Binghamton Black Bears (20-7-2) won in
overtime vs. the Danbury Hat Tricks (22-3-4) off a shot from Captain
Jake Shultz who shot went in the net just seconds after the goal
came lose, by the score of 4-3. The Black Bears had taken a 3-0 lead
in the 1st period off of goals from Chad Lopez, Austin Thompson and
Josh Newberg. Then Danbury fought back scoring once in the 2nd
period and then two late in the 3rd period to tie the game. However
it was, what will be a controversial goal in the minds of the Hat
Tricks by Jake Shultz that gave the Black Bears their first win over
the Hat Tricks this season. Riley McVeigh was good in net saving 32
of 35 shots and earning his 10th win of the season. The two teams
will meet again in Binghamton on Friday at the Arena with a puck
drop scheduled for 7:00 PM. |
