| The Binghamton Black Bears (26-10-2) lost the first of three games to be played vs. the Carolina Thunderbirds (28-6-5) by the score of 4 to 3. Mac Lewis got the scoring going first for the Black Bears early in the 1st period, then Nikita Ivashkin scored at 2:37 mark of the first to get the Black Bears up by 2 goals. Carolina scored in the first before Tyson Kirkby scored Binghamton's third goal to go back up by 2 goals. However the Thunderbirds scored 2 in the 2nd and then 1 in the 3rd period to take the lead and eventually win the game. Riley McVeigh saved 26 of 30 shots but takes the loss. The Black Bears and the Thunderbirds meet up again at the Arena on Saturday night for the 2nd of 3 meetings this weekend. |
