MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (10-1-3) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (6-7-1) at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night by the score of 5-2 in a game where Nikita Ivashkin scored his 100th Binghamton Black Bears goal. The Black Bears started off the scoring as Andrew Logar fed Josh Fletcher who got the puck past Hat Tricks net-minder Connor McCollum to take a 1-0 lead. After a bad back handed pass by Nikita Ivashkin didn't connect, Michael Falanga took a pass from Corey Cunningham to score the Hat Tricks firs goal to tie the game at 1 just 7:49 into the 1st period. After a missed cross-check to Nikita Ivashkin that took him out of the game, Donald Olivieri scored his 3rd of the season 3:16 into the 2nd period to put the Black Bears up 2-1. Olivieri then put another goal on the board, his 2nd of the game and on the power play at the 7:46 mark to make this a 3-1 game. The captain of the Hat Tricks, Jonny Ruiz capitalized on a Black Bears turn over, scoring glove side high on Sam LiVecchi cutting the lead to just 3-2. With 10:40 left to go in the 3rd period and a scrum in front of Connor McCollum, Ivashkin kept the puck alive and sent a pass out to Brenden Stanko who then sent a wrister in and scored the Black Bears 4th goal. Then it finally happened, at the 17:55 mark of the 3rd, with McCollum pulled for the extra attacker, Logar stole the puck, sent it off the center ice boards to Nikita Ivashkin who scored his 100th career goal, which made this a 5-2 game win for the Black Bears.
