MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (9-1-3) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (6-6-1)  in the shoot out in the Danbury Ice Arena by the score of 5-4. The Black Bears went up two goals quick off of Gavin Yates stick as he scored two goals, the first at 6:52 and then at 8:49 putting the Black Bears up 2-0 over the Hat Tricks. Defenseman, Liam Anderson had two assists on the Yates goals. Sam Dabrowski cut Binghamton's lead in half with a goal 3:13 into the 2nd period as Danbury came out of the 1st intermission and started pressing hard. The Captain for the Hat Tricks, Jonny Ruiz ties the game at two with a goal 8:23 into the period. At the 10:18 mark of the of the 2nd, Hat Tricks net-minder Connor McCollum had to make split stretching save on Jestin Somero to keep the Black Bears from taking a 3-2 lead. Near the end of the period with 3 minutes and 42 seconds left, the returning Donald Olivieri scored his first of the season to put the Black Bears up by 1 at 3-2. Very quickly in the 3rd, just 45 seconds in, Xavier Abdella scored to tie the game for the Hat Tricks. With 5:10 left to go in the 3rd, the Hat Tricks took the lead off the stick of Daniel Amesbury when he got the puck past Connor McAnanama, bringing the score to 4-3. Donald Olivieri then scored his 2nd of the night to tie the game back up at 4 goals apiece. In the over-time period, Olivieri was tagged for tripping at the 1:07 mark and the Black Bears were able to kill the penalty. The over-time period ended with 5 shots on goal for the Black Bears and 1 for the Hat Tricks. Brenden Stanko scored the only shoot-out goal in five rounds to earn their first shoot out win of the season and take the extra point.
