| The Binghamton Black Bears (32-6-7) defeated the Elmira River Sharks (18-30-0) by the score of 8-1 at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. The Black Bears get the early lead just 1:54 into the game as Scott Ramaekers scores his first professional goal to give the Black Bears a 1-0 lead. Dan Wieber, not known for scoring in multiple games in a row scored his 2nd goal of the weekend and in as many nights 3:29 into the 1st. On a delayed penalty call against the River Sharks, Colan Fitzgerald did not wait for the power play and scored the Black Bears 3rd goal of the game with 4:06 left to go in the period. The Black Bears Austin Thompson, the hottest player in the FPHL this weekend, scored with 1:34 to go in the 2nd period, scoring his 6th goal of the weekend to put the Black Bears up 4-0. Not to be outdone, Jestin Somero scored the Black Bears 5th goal of the game with just 48 seconds to go. While Mark Pozsar was in the Elmira penalty box for holding, Andrew Logar scored his Black Bears leading 10th power play goal giving the Black Bears a 6-0 lead. Just 20 seconds later Kyle Stephan scored to make this a 7-0 game for the Black Bears. To keep the scoring going, the Black Bears got their 8th goal of the game, short-handed as Fitzgerald sent a pass to the slot where Scott Ramaekers sent the puck past Sam Livecchi to score his 2nd of the game. The River Sharks then broke the shutout streak scoring with 3:54 left to go in the game off the stick of Dustin Jesseau, which ended up being the final tally in a Black Bears 8-1. |
