| The Binghamton Black Bears (24-3-6) defeated the Motor City Rockers (18-12-4) by the score of 7-5 inside of the Big Boy Arena. The Rockers got on the scoresheet first with a Roman Gaudet goal with 9:45 to go in the first after he sent the puck past the Black Bears Connor McAnanama. Gavin Yates ties the game up at 1 as he left the penalty box and scored the Black Bears first goal of the game. The Black Bears came out of the 1st intermission with a lot of speed which led to a 2-1 lead after Andrew Uturo scored his first professional goal in his first game just 44 seconds into the period. With Josh Fletcher in the box for tripping, the Rockers scored their game tying goal off the stick Jameson Milam at the 8:37 mark. Gavin Yates playing in his 99th game for the Black Bears scored his 2nd goal of the game putting the Black Bears back on top, 3-2. The Black Bears then turned over the puck in the neutral zone just after clearing the puck, but Ryan Rotondi made the Black Bears pay with the Rockers game tying goal with just 3:29 left in the 2nd period. Dakota Bohn, who sat in the box twice in the period scored the Black Bears 3rd goal in the period to give his team a 4-3 lead with only 29 seconds to go in the period. Scott Coash scored the Rockers 4th goal, tying the game up at 4 goals apiece just 7:08 into the 3rd period. Jesse Anderson scored his 5th goal of the season and the Black Bears 5th goal of the game just 22 seconds after the Coash goal to put the Black Bears again up by 1. With Jonathan Juliano in the Rockers penalty box for hooking, Bohn scored his 2nd goal of the night and the Black Bears 1st power play goal of the game to make this a 6-4 game. The Rockers then scored their 2nd power play goal of the game with Andrew Uturo in the box for Tripping off the stick of Jonathan Juliano to close this game back to a Black Bears 1 goal lead at 6-5. The Rockers pulled their goalie with 1:15 left to go in the 3rd period but that opened the door for Dakota Bohn to score his hat-trick with an empty net goal with just 35 seconds left to go in the game, giving the Black Bears a 7-5 win. |
