MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (26-5-6) defeated the Watertown Wolves (12-23-4) at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena by the score of 6-3 in front of a sold out crowd. The Black Bears opened the scoring with a strong shift but the opening starters but as they went off the ice, the 2nd line came on and quickly Connor Smith scored just 1:06 into the game. The Wolves would not be left out of the quick start as Marc Bottero scored 2:21 into the period to tie the game at 1 goal apiece. The same line for the Wolves put the team up 2-1 with a goal from Joshua Tomasi who was assisted by Marc Bottero just 1:09 after the 1st goal by Bottero. A rookie, playing in his first game as a Black Bear, Stephen Gerbis scored to tie the game early in the 1st period just 2:45 in. With Bottero in the penalty box for hooking, Andrew Logar scored a power play goal putting the Black Bears back up 3-2 with 4:28 left to go in the 2nd period. Trevor Lord scored 39 seconds into the 3rd period to tie this game up at 3 goals. The Black Bears Captain, Tyson Kirkby answered the Lord goal with one of his own 3:47 into the 3rd period to put his team back up by 1 goal, 4-3. Austin Thompson scored a pair of goals 17 seconds apart to give the Black Bears a 6-3 lead with 6 minutes and 2 seconds left. The Black Bears win the game and lower their magic # for the playoffs from 13 to 7.
