| The Binghamton Black Bears (25-5-6) defeated the Elmira River Sharks (13-23-0) by the score of 10-2 inside of the First Arena. With Sortirios Karageorgos in the penalty box for diving, the Black Bear picked up the game’s first goal, a power play goal 11:37 into the 1st period. Former Black Bears player, Brett Parker scoring as well on the power play to tie the game at 1 with Connor Smith in the penalty box for slashing. The Black Bears regain the lead and more important Connor Smith put the puck back into the back of the net at the 4:18 mark of the the 2nd period. Smith scored his 2nd of the period 4 minutes and 8 seconds later putting the Black Bears up 3-1 at the 8:26 mark. With Liam Anderson in the box for slashing and with the River Sharks on the power play, the Black Bears Josh Fletcher stole the puck and scored short-handed at the 11:35 mark and gave the Black Bears a 4-1 lead. Connor Smith wasted no time and scored his third goal of the period, a hat trick goal just 1 minute and 54 seconds after the Fletcher goal making this a 5-1 game. The Black Bears were not done in the period scoring their 5th goal of the period off the stick of Jesse Anderson with 4:13 left to go in the period. Tyson Kirkby scored his 1st goal of the game and the Black Bears 6th goal of the game with 47 seconds left in the 2nd period and mercifully the period ends with the Black Bears leading 7-1. Connor Smith continued his scoring ways 9:20 into the 3rd with his 4th goal of the game giving the Black Bears a 7 goal lead. Liam Anderson then got on the scoresheet for the Black Bears scoring the 9th goal of the game with 9:15 left to go in the game. Darius Davidson gets the River Sharks 2nd goal of the game, also on the power play with JT Walters in the box for Tripping. The Black Bears get their 10th goal of the game off the stick of Dan Wieber who scored off a booming shot with 3:27 left to go in the game. |
