| The Binghamton Black Bears (24-5-6) lost to the Elmira River Sharks (13-22-0) by the score of 6-3 inside of the First Arena on Super Bowl Sunday. The Black Bears got the scoring started with Gavin Yates in the box for interference, Austin Thompson scored the Black Bears 3rd short-handed goal of the season taking the early 1 goal lead. Sotirios Karageorgos scored to tie the game with Austin Thompson in the penalty box for cross-checking. The River Sharks get the lead, 2-1 just 9:54 into the 2nd period with a snipe of shot from Marquis Grant-Mentis. Playing in his 3rd game for the Black Bears, Andrew Uturo scored his 2nd pro goal with 1:56 left to go in the 2nd period to tie the game up at 2 goals for each team. After a couple of sloppy rebounds and no Black Bears' defensemen to help clear, Rasmus Asp cleaned up the third rebound for the River Sharks 3rd goal of the game and 1 goal lead. The River Sharks then scored two more goals from Davide Gaeta and Elijah Wilson at the 12:24 and 13:38 marks to then put the River Sharks up 5-2. The Black Bears got one more back off the stick of Jesse Anderson as Sam LiVecchi was pulled for the extra attacker. Darius Davidson put the final stamp on this game as he scored an empty netter to end this game at 6-3, the River Sharks 3rd win in a row and giving the Black Bears their first two game regulation losing streak of the year. |
