Binghamton Black Bears News - Rod Davidson Announced as New Black Bears Head Coach
August 26, 2021 Posted by: Bob Howard Credit: Binghamton Black Bears The Binghamton Black Bears today announced on Facebook Live the new Head Coach of the first year FPHL team, Rod Davidson. Davidson, replaces James Henry who accepted an Assistant Coach position with the ECHL's Reading Royals.

Rod Davidson | In speaking with media after the announcement, Davidson stated: I reached out right away to speak with someone. I enjoy coaching and I have been around the FPHL. The last five years I have been running a public skate and youth hockey program in Biloxi and the time was right to get back to coaching. When asked about the style of hockey that he will likes and coach his players: I like tough hockey. I think mainstream hockey is getting is making a mistake getting away from it. Fans here will enjoy this brand. What he will be looking from players in training camp: In camps like this we are looking for someone who fills in a team need regardless of stats. Play your game and show your Hockey IQ. Davidson's coaching experience is not expanse, however he did help the Danville Dashers to a fifth place finish after a bad start in the 2018-19 season and as a Head Coach in the CHL for the Indianapolis Ice, captured a championship in the 1999-2000 season.
