each week on the happenings of the western conference of
the American Hockey League.
In
the “Wild Wild West Report” Bob discusses with Dave
the new divisional alignment in the west conference and
about the three new teams entering the league this
season; Omaha, Peoria & Iowa. More near and dear to
his heart Dave discusses the head coaching position of
the Grand Rapids Griffins and how that should change for
next season as the Red Wings will be in more control of
the coaching changes for the 06-07 season. And as Dave
starts to go through every team in the western
conference, the big moves, the outlooks for the teams,
Dave fills us in on his least favorite east conference
team; it’s a must listen to segment of the show.
Bob
then gets an update from Senator winger Brandon “Bo”
Bochenski who was heading off to Ottawa Senators camp.
Bo talks about his off season workouts and getting ready
for camp. Bo explained what he would like to accomplish
in camp and even talked about his feelings coming back
to Binghamton if he were assigned to this season. Bo
even reflected more on the playoff loss to the
Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in the first round of the
playoffs.

Corner with Grady Whittenburg also returned with this
edition of the PPPS. Grady explained why if you’re not
a season ticket holder in the AHL, why you should be and
the benefits for the community and the team. Grady
touched upon the losses of Josh Langfeld and Pat
Kavanagh for the Senators organization. More discussion
on the rules changes as Grady once again explains on how
if the game were officiated the way it was supposed to;
the rules changes would not be needed.
Bob
and Jason opened this edition of the PPPS and touched
upon many issues. Heading right into listener e-mail
about the San Jose acquisition of Josh Langfeld; Bob and
Jason discussion the good and the bad of the situation
for Langfeld and the Sharks. A look into again the rules
changes for the NHL and the AHL as Bob and Jason differ
a little on the importance of the two-line pass. OLN,

The
CBA Debate
July
23, 2005 - The CBA Debate was the brain child of host
Jason Wilcox. Bob and Jason on the day that the NHL
owners ratified the new Collective Bargaining Agreement,
the two hosts explain the main points of the new CBA
before a spirited debate on these five topics:
-New
CBA will help all teams better compete. Creates even
playing field.
-Other sports have a cap and it works for them. So it
will be the same success for the NHL.
-Lower UFA age. Good or bad for AHL?
-Talent drain? How does this affect European players
and leagues in Europe. Will we see more players go to
Europe and is this bad or good?
-Was this deal what fans really wanted? Should fans
be happy with the results of the CBA? Do fans in cities
like Pitt, Atlanta, and Nashville have reason to be
hopeful with this deal?
Bob
and Jason then ended the show with a brief look at the
next two weeks for the NHL and when teams can start
building their rosters and signing free agents. Plus a
brief look into the draft lottery results with the
Pittsburgh Penguins gaining the # 1 selection, most
likely taking Sydney Crosby in next Saturday's NHL
draft.
