Our first impact player can normally be found on the second line with Yates and Stephan but for tonight's game he was on the first line with Thompson and Kirkby and managed to tally a goal and an assist. The past 6 years CJ Stubbs has played for the FPHL, SPHL and the ECHL and show cases a lot of skill and talent. In my opinion Stubbs is a powerhouse player that on any given night could easily have a handful of points whether from goals or assists. Stubbs ability to keep and maintain control of the puck especially in front of the net has provided many scoring opportunties for not only himself but for others as well. He is a player that you don't know if he is coming down the ice to take a shot on net or coming down to set up someone else to take a shot on. He keeps pressure on the opposing team and makes great plays to keep the puck in the zone.

Up next is a player normally dressed as a forward but tonight he was a defensive man. Scott Ramaekers had more of a quiet role then you would normally see from him but that is something you want in a defensive man. He did have an assist on the Yates goal in the 3rd period, but it was his play in the 2nd period that really got my attention. In the 2nd period Ramaekers had a good poke check against Cory Anderson that kept Danbury from entering the zone. Following that Newberg delivers a hit to Ramaekers into the boards by the players bench where he took a second to gather himself after the hit which actually helped stop a 2 on 1 breakaway for Danbury. While he took a moment to shake off the hit the rest of the Black Bears were prepared to enter the zone when Labelle would get the puck and go for a breakaway with Robinson, but Ramaekers managed to get himself in front of Labelle and then in front of McAnanama to prevent Danbury from getting close to him. Overall, for a player who doesn't play defense he played his role well.

Our final impact player for the night had some big shoes to fill and he did just that. Jesse Anderson took the role of Dakota Bohn and executed it beautifully. Bohn was out serving a 1 game suspension, so Anderson was paired with Dan Stone. He tagged 2 goals tonight 1 at even strength and 1 shorthanded goal. He was awarded with the game winning goal and 1st star of the game but that's not the reason he was chosen as an impact player. Anderson really stepped up to fill in for Bohn which let's be honest is not an easy role to fill. I truly believe he played like Bohn he was fiery, energetic and carried a lot of speed with him tonight. The most notable play he had tonight even had the crowd going crazy for him. In the second period Anderson would lose his stick going for a poke check on Chase Harwell and instead of leaving the ice or going to get another stick he managed to stay on top of the puck and blocked Harwell allowing Stone to come in and try to get the puck but the puck came loose and Anderson took a knee to block a potential shot on goal. After all of that Anderson would gather his stick in time for Danbury to come back into the zone with Harwell going for shot Anderson slapped his stick in front of the puck blocking the shot and sending the puck up into the safety net. Anderson stepped into his role and played a great game defensively.
