After a rough first period where the Wolves got 4 goals CJ Hapward stepped up and shut them out for the remaining 43 minutes. I can only imagine how difficult it is to go into the first intermission knowing the score is 4-0 but that is one of the wonderful things about watching this team they take things game by game period by period in that it doesn’t matter what happened the previous 20 minutes you have a fresh 20 minutes ahead of you and the clock restarts now. Hapward didn’t let the outcome of the first period bring his confidence down he stood his ground and saved the final 13 shots on net. This was a great learning game for Hapward to experience.

Now for a player that I have been watching game after game after game a player I have almost written about several times. Zac Sirota who plays his game much like Thompson in parking himself in front of the net and absolutely taking a beating. He has a fiery passion about him that is just a blast to watch. He certainly isn’t the biggest guy on the team but that doesn’t stop him from getting right into the mix of things. Sirota is one of those players that you can plug in anywhere and he’s going to preform to the best of his ability the role he asked to do. He is normally dressed as the extra forward but for the past 2 games he was put on the second line with Ramaekers and Swain, which managed to be top scoring line of tonight’s game collecting 8 points between assists and goals.

Lastly let’s talk about someone who just had some absolutely wonderful plays tonight Nicholas Swain the player who right from the faceoffs put the hustle in to get possession of the puck and control the game. He has the ability to get his stick on the puck which lead to him having several breakaway opportunities. On top of that his presence in front of the net tonight produced 2 goals. One of which was his where he kept the pressure on directly in front of Borodkin and managed to secure the loose puck for a goal and the 2nd where he screened Borodkin which allowed for the Dan Stone goal. Swain has proven himself to be a very valuable. Just another great show by these players who needed to step up and did just that.
