               <font size="2" face="Courier New">October 29, 2004</font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New"><font color="#FF0000">Posted by: <a href="mailto:bob@binghamtonhockey.net">Bob Howard</a><br> Credit: </font><a href=http://www.norfolkadmirals.com/>Norfolk Admirals.com</a>  </font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New">SHORTHANDED GOALS SINK ADMIRALS <BR> <BR> Four point nights by Jason Spezza and Chris Kelly led the Binghamton Senators to a 5-3 win over the Admirals. <BR> <BR> The B-Sens struck first, with Brandon Bochenski scoring at 10:10 of the opening frame. The Admirals answered back with a back-handed deke by Travis Moen 32 seconds later, tying the game. Binghamton piled up 21 shots in the stanza to just six by Norfolk, but the score was deadlocked at one after 20 minutes of play. <BR> <BR> Spezza re-gained the lead for the B-Sens 5:04 into the second period. Penalties to Anton Volchenkov and Jesse Fibiger within a 22 second span game the Ads a two-man advantage in the seventh minute. At the 7:15 mark, Ajay Baines tipped a pass from Rene Bourque past Ray Emery for a power play tally to knot the score once again On the ensuing faceoff, Pat Kavanaugh got the puck to Kelly who blasted one from near the Admirals’ blueline past Michael Leighton to a shorthanded goal. A hooking call on Volchenkov at 14:19 once again gave Norfolk a power play, but Bingo’s Spezza scored on a wraparound at 15:32 for his team’s second shorthanded tally and a 4-2 lead after two periods. <BR> <BR> Charlie Stephens extended the Senators’ lead to three goals when he scored 1:39 into the third period. Nick Kuiper fired a one-timer off a draw past Emery at 15:22 to bring Norfolk to within two. The Admirals pulled Leighton in the final minute for an extra attacker, but were unable to convert and fell 5-3. <BR> <BR> Leighton and Emery finished with 32 saves apiece.
